Sport has been a part of my life since I was a child. When I discovered trail running through my climbing partner at the end of 2015, this sport grew into my biggest passion next to cycling. Covering ultra-distances over inhospitable terrain. Overcoming yourself, nature and the elements after an endless battle. Finishing a challenging trail run or skyrace gives me great satisfaction. Running gives me the faith and mental strength to keep going at all times. Both on a professional, personal and sports level. Etixx is an important link in this chain. You find the necessary willpower, determination and physical capability within yourself. But having the right nutrition before, during and after exercise can sometimes be the key to success.

My favourite Etixx products
- Magnesium 100% Bisglycinate PRO LINE is a supplement that I always have in the house, since I am naturally susceptible to cramps. A nightmare for any athlete. I keep this under control with Magnesium and can always push myself to the extreme.
- I use Carbo-Gy before and during competitions or training sessions in combination with an isotonic drink (Isotonic) to constantly replenish the necessary carbohydrates.
- Recovery Shake PRO LINE is vital in my opinion, optimum recovery is essential when you exercise almost every day.
My greatest sporting achievements
UTMB and Diagonale des Fous are both exceptional 100-mile trail races over an extremely arduous route. Furthermore, in addition to a heap of other ultra-trail races, I am also very happy with the number of mountain peaks I have conquered independently in mountaineering, such as Dom de Mischabel and the better-known Mont Blanc.

My #GiveItYourAll moments in 2022
It is a dream of mine to complement my 2 completed 100 mile trail runs with a third. In 2022 I want to qualify for this via the Madeira Island Ultra Trail 115k (23-04) or the CCC by UTMB 100k (26-08). Furthermore, in addition to the Milan (03-04), St Petersburg (18-06) and Athens (13-11) marathons, I will also be embarking on a multi-day Gravel adventure (5-9 Sept).

Hi, I am a Ghent masters student studying Sports Management at UGent. As well as being a football trainer (SV Zulte-Waregem), activity leader and manager (Kazou and Route du Soleil) and a volunteer at the Ghent Red Cross, I am first and foremost a keen sportsman. Hello, I am Thomas De Bock, 30 years old and working as a doctoral student at the research group of sports management at UGent. In between working hours I run a lot of kilometres, mostly in preparation of a marathon.
